Lasers provide process improvement

March 22, 2018 admin Industry News, Tracepack News

Why have lasers become a prominent method to cut, etch, and mark? The answer is process improvement.

Industrial lasers are thought of as Precise, Powerful and Elegant. But they are not bringing as much new capability as one might think. Many industrial lasers are cutting and marking tools at heart, and neither cutting nor marking started with lasers. They are an innovative way to do an old job.

Older cutting and marking methods use direct contact. Lasers are unique in that they perform their function without surface contact. This gives lasers two key advantages:

  • Reliability—lasers neither wear nor clog when cutting and marking. Direct contact methods experience both issues, making them more unstable and prone to breakdowns.
  • Precision—light energy can be focused very finely and manipulated with exactness. This level of precision is difficult to achieve with direct contact methods. Lasers also maintain high precision throughout their lifespans as a con-sequence of their non-contact approach.

The Master+ Series: a new controller by ALE

March 8, 2018 admin Industry News, Tracepack News

The Master+ Series: a new controller by ALE

The Master+ Series is the newest controller of the ALE’s range, improving the functionalities of the Master Series machines to offer you an even more advanced, and more user-friendly device for all your coding and marking needs

One single controller can drive up to 8 x 72mm print-heads, managing a total of 576mm of print height. With its friendly user interface and its full connectivity including Nicelabel® and Windows®, it will soon become your best production asset.

It is fully compatible with the entire ALE product range, driving from 1 (TC, TZ and PR ranges) up to 8 print-heads simultaneously (CORAL and CALYPSO ranges) depending on the model: Master+2, 4 or 8.

The control box is working with our comprehensive Design and Print software, CodeX that will allow you to create complex labels with texts, high-quality graphics, data (fix or variable) as well barcodes. With the Master+, you will be able to satisfy even the most demanding coding and marking applications. It is also implemented in Nicelabel and compatible with the Windows Drivers.

The Master+ controller has been especially designed to make your daily processes easier: its wide 7” LCD Colour screen, paired with the user-friendly CodeX interface, will make operations far easier. Equipped with a powerful DualCore CPU board, this control box is also a very powerful and quick system, helping you maximise your production and reduce downtimes. It can be easily integrated to your production area thanks to its different connection modes: TCP/IP, RS232, Wi-fi (option).

The Master+ has also a sophisticated, yet industrial look, to resist even the most extreme production environments.

ARCA anti-tampering solution for pharma products

February 9, 2018 admin Industry News, Tracepack News

Two Sides Seal – Tamper Evident Labelling System for Pharma Products | Anti-Tampering Solution

LABELLING PROCESS
From the upstream line, the product enters in the system where two smart sensors detect it. Once the product arrives onto our conveyor, it is hold by the belt and lateral guides up to the labelling station. Then the system stabilises the product thanks to the upper stabilizer and a section of special rubber belts. This section guarantees at the same time stability during the labelling operation and a proper space between the products through the acceleration of the linear speed. Under the upper stabilizer, the product is labelled on the two sides with specific “tamper evident seal labels”. These labels remain in “flag position” up to the two mechanical adapters that bend the “flag portion” on the superior or inferior surface. This position could be easily changed giving the possibility of different combinations of seal labels on the two sides.

TECHNOLOGY
Main control panel with 10.4″ HMI touch screen display equipped with a graphic interface and advanced firmware tools for smart management of all the operations: set up, alarm reset, production trial downloading process. All the functions are protected by 3 password levels certified CFR21 and one fingerprint reader as additional protection solution. A secondary analogic control panel is available on the opposite side with the main operating functions.

LABELLING CHECKS
A barrier sensor at the entrance double check the correct operation as validation of the process. During the labelling process, the machine verifies the correct application of the labels on the product through two fiber optical sensors. In case of error or wrong application, the rejecting station blows out of the line the wrong product into a collecting box. One second collecting box equipped with a deviating barrier will be controlled through an interlock signal from the downstream line. In case of emergency situation or error of the next line, the machine will activate this device to empty the line if required.

SAFETY AND PROTECTION
The machine is protected into a safety cabinet with polycarbonate panels and stainless-steel bars. The doors are controlled by safety microswitch to guarantee opening operation in safety conditions. All the motorized parts of the machine are also integrated with micro-switch safety solution. PRODUCTIVITY Arca “Tamper Evident” labelling system is a very high-performance machine able to satisfy every productivity and label accuracy needs.

Collector by ARCA

February 8, 2018 admin Industry News, Tracepack News

The Arca Collector is a device created to intercept an incorrect label (e.g.: unreadable barcode or unreadable RFid transponder).

The unit can be installed on a Linerplus Advanced print apply unit compatible with all High Precision S applicators. Based on the error signal (transmitted by the barcode reader / printer that burns the RFID transponders) a pick-up system is activated for the unreadable labels. A pre-alarm can be set indicating the need to remove the incorrect labels from the collection area; in this situation, the process can be performed safely, while the machine is still in operation.

The Arca collector can be installed directly on the applicator and not on the support or stand.
