CIJ

The continuous inkjet (CIJ) method is used commercially for marking and coding of products and packages. CIJ is one of the oldest inkjet technologies in use and is fairly mature. The major advantages of CIJ are the high print speeds, as well as the 30-50 mm distance to the substrate, the very high velocity (~20 m/s) of the ink droplets, allowing for a relatively long distance between print head and the substrate, and the very high drop ejection frequency, allowing for very high-speed printing.

TIJ

Thermal inkjet can provide a low-cost option for high-speed printing and can print on a variety of surfaces using disposable ink cartridges for simple operation and minimum maintenance.

Polymer Ink

Made with Polymer (synthetic, organic material) only, no solvents present in ink.

Authentication

Authentication often involves verifying the validity of at least one form of identification. It is the act of confirming the truth of an attribute of a single piece of data claimed true by an entity or ensuring that a product is what its packaging and labeling claim to be.

Item-level Identification

Item-level RFID is an approach to radio frequency identification that involves tagging individual inventory units, as opposed to tagging cartons or pallets of items.Companies primarily use item-level RFID to track items for inventory control and supply chain management purposes. Tagging single products allow for better accuracy and visibility in supply chain processes, helping to eliminate common supply chain problems such as inventory shortages and wasteful overstocking.

2D Code

A 2D barcode is a graphical image that stores information both horizontally and vertically. As a result of that construction, 2D codes can store up to 7,089 characters, significantly greater storage than is possible with the 20-character capacity of a unidimensional barcode.2D barcodes are also known as quick response codes because they enable fast data access. 2D barcodes are often used in conjunction with smartphones.

Pelta 2D Code

Pelta™ Digital Authentication Technology based on industry standard 2D Quick Response codes (QR Codes), Dot codes and Data Matrix ECC 200 barcodes.

Ring Fence

Goods earmarked for a certain region or area are, used within these specific regions exceptions are reported.

Round Tripping

Goods sold (like government stock) are illegally fed back into consumer supply chains.

DPI

Dots per inch is a measure of spatial printing or video dot density, in particular, the number of individual dots that can be placed in a line within the span of 1 inch (2.54 cm).

MEK

Methyl Ethyl Ketoneis an effective and common solvent.

Focal Tolerance

The variation allowed in focal distance before quality is adversely affected.

Diode

A two-terminal electronic component that conducts primarily in one direction; it has low resistance to the flow of current in one direction, and high resistance in the other.
